A global pandemic, a dating app, and a beach.

As many modern love stories begin, Nate and Chelsea met on a dating app during the pandemic. Chelsea’s profile was full of pictures and videos of her parent’s dog, Chester, who is of course irresistibly floofy and charmed Nate. Unfortunately for Nate, Chelsea had just decided she was sick of men and deleted her app, so she didn’t see his message for a month.

When she finally gathered her strength to redownload Hinge, she was pleasantly surprised by Nate’s profile - namely, no shirtless pictures, no pictures with fish, and thoughtfully answered prompts. He politely didn’t mention the month-long delay, which Chelsea saw as a green flag, and they jumped right into conversation.

Their messaging soon turn to FaceTime chats, which they continued daily for about a month, being careful of COVID (they were, if you recall, unprecedented times). Having so much to talk about, so many shared values, and a deep yet effortlessly fun connection, they finally decided to meet up for a real date — a socially distant, fully masked beach walk— where they talked nonstop for hours and hours.

They took the leap to let each other into their ‘bubbles’ and have spent nearly 24/7 together ever since (seriously, they both work from home in a 1-bedroom apartment, and they still aren’t sick of each other!!). As the world opened up, they continued to weave their lives together, meeting each other’s friends and families, going on trips together, going to shows and games, supporting one another through career changes, moving in together, and adopting their beloved dogter, Arlee.

Nate proposed to Chelsea on the same beach they had their first date on December 9th, 2023 (no masks this time). They can’t wait to celebrate their love with you!
